Corpus Christi Hammerheads Owner and President Chad Dittman announced today that the IFL Franchise has signed WR Brandon Hussey and OL/DL Wilbert Martin for the 2010 season.

Hussey, (5-9, 175, Winston Salem State) holds virtually every receiving record for the defunct Corpus Christi Sharks. Last season Hussey had 105 catches for a team leading 1341 yards and 20 touchdowns. Hussey was also used in the ground attack and kick returns… Click to Read More

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Hammerheads have tabbed former player and West Oso assistant football Coach Steven Fillmore to be their new head coach.

The 27-year-old former linebacker and 2001 West Oso High School graduate was introduced at a press conference this afternoon.  Fillmore leaves the playing field after a three-year stint on the Corpus Christi defense, which included two trips to league championship games.

CORPUS CHRISTI - The list of potential Hammerheads coaches is down to three. Former coach Jason Mckinley pulled out of the running, deciding against a return to the team he coached for four seasons.

Team owner Chad Dittman is still negotiating with former Corpus Christi Sharks coach Mike Trigg along with Hammerhead players Schuyler Anderson and Steven Fillmore, and says a decision will be made by Friday at the latest.

CORPUS CHRISTI - The IFL has banned Hammerheads lineman Eli Ibrahim for life, after he punched an official during Saturday's game against Abilene.

Ibrahim, number 77, was ejected during the first half of the game after getting dinged with a pair of personal fouls.

CORPUS CHRISTI - A member of the Hammerheads is facing criminal charges after he punched an official during Saturday night's game at the Robstown Fairgrounds.

Eli Ibraham was booked into the Nueces County Jail on an assault charge after striking official Joel Hilliard during the first quarter of a game with Abilene on Saturday. On Monday, the league took action as well.

CORPUS CHRISTI - Hammerhead's defensive lineman Eli Abraham, who was arrested Saturday after police say he hit a referee, is out of jail Sunday on a $1,000 bond.

However, officials said he could be facing more problems.

CORPUS CHRISTI - A Corpus Christi Hammerheads player could be charged with assaulting a ref at Saturday's game against Abilene.

Robstown police said around 7:45 p.m. Saturday evening, Eli Abraham was ejected from the game for unsportsmanship conduct. KRIS 6 News was told he got back up from the bench, walked over and slapped referee Joe Hilliard.
