ROBSTOWN - A man caught stealing copies of the Nueces County Record Star newspaper tells Robstown police he was hired to do it.
He also said, the person who hired him is a relative of Jose Saenz, a Robstown man indicted on drug charges yesterday.
Police say 43 -year old Victor Valdez, is the man behind the series of bizarre robberies.

CORPUS CHRISTI - Derek Cook calls Oklahoma home, but this weekend he will be in town helping out at Monster Jam. He was originally scheduled to headline their FMX event, but broke his wrist this past weekend at a competition.
His injury required surgery, marking Cook's eighth total surgery from a motor cross related accident.

CALIFORNIA - Firefighters are moving fast this morning to get ahead of a wildfire near Palmdale, California.
The blaze has already destroyed three homes, but has hundreds more within its striking distance.

CORPUS CHRISTI- The Texas Education Agency released its school accountability ratings for 2010 and overall the news appears to be good for area school districts.
The TEA gave the Corpus Cchristi Independent School District an overall rating of "Academically Acceptable".
18 CCISD campuses were rated "Exemplary" compared to 14 in 2009.
