Dogs Banned From Some Areas Of Beach

CORPSU CHRISTI - Though police have their hands full dealing with drinking and partying, they're also on the lookout for Spring Breaker's furry friends.
According to police, the stretch of beach between Access Road 3 and Zahn Road is off limits to your dog, leash or not.
Ronda Zimmeran a local Spring Breaker said, "Of course we got to get him to the beach. He's a good one, he's friendly to everyone."
While we were out at the beach, we found several spring breakers out enjoying the day with man's best friend.
From little to big, there were plenty off dogs out there playing in the surf, and many we spoke to said that they were actually unaware of the dog ban in the area.
And despite the possible citation they could receive if caught, many pet owners are willing to take the risk to bring their dogs to the beach.
Denise Fields, a dog owner told us, "We I live here and I think that lind of sucks for the little dogs that don't bother people. Okay, I have a problem with it. I can understand if you've got an aggressive dog but he's not. He wants to be friends with everybody. So yeah, not fun."
The dog ban will continue in these areas until March 22.

The beach is a smelly mess with all those dogs out there with spring breakers!! Hope the cops find time to ticket the law breakers!! Spring breakers are guests and should follow the rules just like the rest of us.

i know more mean little dogs than mean big dogs. it seem the smaller they are the more they want to eat you. my husband has had to literally pick our pitty up into the air because little dogs not on leashes have tried to attack him. then we stand there and watch the owner of the small dog laugh because his little chihuahua atacked a pit bull!! mabe chihuahuas should be added to the bsl law books!!

It's because your dog craps on the beach, not because they attack one another. If you'd just pick up after they deposit a load in the sand, so someone's kid doesn't find it later.

I hope there is some way to challenge this. There are already laws regarding dangerous dogs, or unleashed dogs, un vaccinated dogs, even littering laws that apply to owners not picking up their dogs feces.
Once all the regulations regarding tags are met, the city shouldn't apply restrictions on where these domesticated animals go. Next it's cars, then it's ice chests, then you just won't be allowed on the beach. It'll be reserved for the hotel guests and condo owners and guarded for them by our tax funded police.
Don't think it can't happen, it already is. We just happen to be the last stand of open beaches. Corpus should concentrate on it's city and leave the beach alone.
