ROBSTOWN - Michael Lewis, a third baseman for the Coastal Bend Thunder has been suspended for two games after shoving an umpire during Tuesday night's plaoff loss to the San Angelo Colts.
Line Umpire Jeff Bonham filed a report with Robstown Police, accusing Lewis of shoving him twice and throwing a punch at him after he ejected Lewis in the ninth inning.
Lewis, 23, has played in 62 games for the Thunder this year, and although he traveled with the team to San Angelo, he'll miss the rest of the series.
Thunder General Manager C. J. Bauer said he doesn't expect any further discipline from the league.
"That's it. He's going to serve his two-game suspension. If we're lucky enough to move on, he'll be playing in our opener when we come back here for the finals," Bauer said.
